We have had one or two people report this happening, but non-the-less we have decided to detail this reported event. It has been reported that the shower control pad has been noted to come on of its own accord. The most likely cause for the control panel switching itself on and off it electrical interference from other wireless devices in the area including wifi internet routers or one of the many other items commonly known to emit similar frequencies used by the control pad. Some products have switchable channels which can cure the problem if you are able to identify which item is causing the conflict. We have also found that some car remote control units and also remote controlLED household sockets used for table lamps can cause the unit to switch on and off. One of these reported occurances was resolved after discovering the shower occasionally powered up when the neighbour operated the remote control for his garage door but a change to the channel it was using has stopped most occasions of this happening, however it does still very occasionally happen. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Sources of RF interference fall into two broad categories-intentional and unintentional. Intentional sources include AM, shortwave, FM, and TV broadcast transmitters as well as ham and CB transmitters, remote controls, wireless phones, cellular phones, commercial taxi/police/aircraft radios, microwave ovens, motion sensors, radar systems, and a myriad of medical and industrial RF devices.
Other unintentional RF generators are devices that abruptly interrupt current flow using some form of electronic switching. The most common examples are light dimmers, fluorescent lights, TV or computer CRT displays and any piece of equipment using a switching power supply or "clock" oscillator (computers and other digital devices). The RFI source may be in the same room as your system or, worse yet, it may be a part of your system. This is not an exaustive list of sources of Interference. |
